Cops in Atlantic City didn't have to travel too far to take a stabbing suspect into custody.

According to the ACPD, just after 8:30 on the morning of Monday, December 2nd, their officers responded to the 1300 block of Atlantic Avenue for a report of a man who was stabbed.

The victim, 45 years old and from Atlantic City, was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers learned that the suspect had left the area in a gray vehicle and, thanks to a citizen, they obtained a picture of him. Additionally, ACPD Surveillance Unit personnel and detectives were able to locate video of the vehicle.

Later that afternoon at about 2:40, officers located that vehicle in the 800 block of Maryland Avenue, and 30-year-old Luis Martinez-Colon of Atlantic City was taken into custody as he left a nearby house.
