The HEROtini Challenge
was comprised of 33 local bars across South Jersey to help stand for a cause against drunk driving, by creating original "mock-tails".
The new trend of a "mock-tail" in South Jersey gained popularity from the John R. Elliott HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers,  who was killed by drunken driver in 2000.

The reason:

“Maybe someone is pregnant, or maybe someone just doesn’t want to drink something alcoholic. So they’re becoming more popular, in general.”

The finals were held at the Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club last Thursday where they named Tomatoes in Margate the winner of the HEROtini Challenge for their "No-jito" mocktail!

A special thanks to all who supported this great cause, including all of our local bars, who helped facilitate more than 370,000 votes between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Votes were cast for categories including best mocktail, best bartender and best establishment.
