Toms River Man Charged With Assaulting Elementary School Teacher

A Toms River woman and Walnut Street school teacher Jillian Messina recently called the cops after a bizarre incident occurred while she was at the school after hours.

NJ.com reports that police were called after 21-year-old Daren Griffin came to the school around 6 p.m. He illegally entered and after some verbal exchanges with Messina, allegedly pulled her from her classroom and out into the hallway by her arm.

He chased her down the steps, but according to NJ.com, ended up fleeing. Messina called the police and Griffin was arrested and charged with aggravated assault as well as trespassing.
