A man from Williamstown was struck and killed on the Black Horse Pike in Monroe Township early Monday morning.

According to Monroe Township Police, 54-year-old Richard Shepherd was walking southbound on the Black Horse Pike around 2:30 Monday morning when he was struck by a car being driven by 56-year-old Teodoro Cosico of Sewell. Cops say Shepherd was in a travel lane when he was hit and the impact threw him onto the shoulder of the road; he died from his injuries.

Cops say Cosico remained at the scene of the accident and was not injured.
