The man who tried to ditch authorities by jumping into the Delaware River last week after allegedly robbing four banks in NJ has been identified.

NJ.com reports that a 58-year-old man from Sicklerville robbed banks up in Mercer County, then tried to get away by ditching his car once he got to Philadelphia. The man, now identified as Abdulraheem Shabazz, was apparently attempting to outrun the police by ditching his car behind a factory and escaping by jumping straight into the Delaware River near the Betsy Ross Bridge.

The Philadelphia Police Department wasn't the first law enforcement agency to attempt apprehension, but were the ones able to finally get him into custody. Shabazz has allegedly been at this robbery spree since early spring of this year, even hitting a TD Bank twice in less than three months.
