A 45-year-old man is dead, after being shot in Atlantic City early Sunday morning.

Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner says Demond Tally, 45, of Atlantic City was fatally shot near Presbyterian Avenue. Atlantic City Police had responded to a ShotSpotter report at 5:13am Sunday. Emergency personnel transported Tally to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No other information has been released from Tyner's office. The incident remains under investigation.

"The Press of Atlantic City" is reporting that Tally was the coach of the Atlantic City Dolphins youth football team. The paper is also reporting that Tally's son, Demond Cottman, was shot and killed in the Hamilton Mall parking lot back in 2016.
