While no one in South Jersey won a chunk of Powerball's $1.6 billion jackpot Wednesday, a winning $2 million ticket was sold in our area -- and several people are $100,000 and $50,000 richer!

According to New Jersey Lottery officials, a winning $2 million Powerball ticket was sold at Wawa on Springside Road in Westampton, Burlington County. The person who bought this ticket matched all five white Powerballs for $1 million and with the Powerplay multiplier, that ticket is worth $2 million.

As for other winners in our area, there were several...

  • $100,000 winning ticket sold at KK Gift and Grocery on Ventnor Ave. in Atlantic City
  • $100,000 winning ticket sold at Fischer Bay Exxon on Fischer Blvd. in Toms River
  • $50,000 winning ticket sold at Wawa on English Creek Ave. in Egg Harbor Township
  • $50,000 winning ticket sold at Arctic General Store on Arctic Ave. in Atlantic City
  • $50,000 winning ticket sold at Westside Market on Broadway in West Cape May

In addition to those winning tickets, over 1.1 million people in New Jersey won smaller prizes, ranging from $4 to $200.

And if you still have Powerball fever, the jackpot has reset and is now back to a puny-sounding $40 million for Saturday night's drawing.
