Cape May County authorities say a man showed up at Cape Regional Medical Center Wednesday with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Now, officials have charged a local man with attempted murder.

Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Middle Township Police Chief Chris Leusner have issued a statement on the case, saying Emanuel Rodriquez, 40, a resident of Catalina Motel in Middle Township, has been charged with attempted murder.

Officials say their investigation led them to Rodriguez's room at the motel, where they executed a search warrant. Rodriguez was then taken into custody and is facing numerous charged, including attempted murder. He's being held in the Cape May County Jail.

Authorities have identified the man who was shot: Glenn Senec, 31. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries and was released from the hospital.
