A young boy received serious injuries when struck by an Atlantic County Special Needs school bus in Atlantic City yesterday afternoon.

According to Atlantic City Police, the 4 year-old was walking with two family members, when he was struck by the bus. The accident happened as he was crossing Filbert Avenue. The bus was turning off Harrisburg Avenue.

Police say the 43-year old bus driver, a female from Millville, stopped the bus, which was filled with children. No one on the bus was injured.

Police say the unidentified 4-year-old was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden for treatment.

No charges have been filed. The investigation continues.
