74-Year Old Galloway Man Dies After Being Struck By Car on US 30
A 74-year old man is dead after being stuck by a car on the White Horse Pike in Galloway Township.
Galloway Police say the accident happened Thursday evening Route 30 at Balboa Avenue.
Charles Winkler Jr. of Galloway was a pedestrian struck by a car driven by Julianne Johnson, 55, of Hammonton.
Police say their initial investigation determined the following:
Johnson was traveling westbound, on US RT 30 in the area of S. Balboa Avenue, in the outside lane when she struck Winkler who was walking eastbound in the outside westbound lane. Johnson’s vehicle came to a rest in the area of Columbus Avenue. Mr. Winkler sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mrs. Johnson was uninjured.
The accident remains under investigation.
