About the 5 Wooden Crosses on the Side of Rt 322 in Hamilton Twp NJ
Just about a mile east of the Route 50 overpass on Route 322 stands five wooden crosses by the side of the road.
The names on the crosses: Julianne, Amanda, Maggie, Grace, and Margaret.
One of the crosses is broken, with part of Grace's name on the ground.

The memorial is in remembrance of five people who lost their lives in an accident on the roadway sixteen years ago this week. The crash happened on July 3, 2005.
Killed in the crash were Margaret Broome, 17, of Longport, Amanda Devlin, 16 of Galloway, Julianne L'Erario, 16 of Galloway, Margaret Dipierro, 69, of Somerdale, and Grace Martinelli, 71, of Stratford.
According to southjersey.livejournal.com, the accident happened when a car driven by Margaret Broome hit and flipped over the median, landing in the opposite lanes of traffic striking a car driven by Margaret Dipierro.
Reports from the article say it was believed that speed was a factor.
Reports also indicated that the 3 girls were part of a 7 car caravan of friends headed to the Weymouth area to go tubing for the day.
Such a tragic loss, one that I remember well.
This medallion is on the ground at the site of the memorial.
While 16 years has passed, the pain will live on with friends and loved ones forever.
According to a 2011 article in The Press of Atlantic City, memorials had been held every year on the beach in Ventnor, remembering the local girls that died in the accident. It's not known if those yearly remembrances are still being held.
