Cops in Absecon say an Atlantic City man is facing serious charges after a traffic stop last weekend.

The Absecon Police Department says 28-year-old Abdul-Uqda H. Ibin Aabid of Atlantic City was stopped for speeding on the White Horse Pike around 3 PM last Sunday.

According to police, "during the course of the investigation, a K-9 officer from a neighboring jurisdiction responded to assist. A subsequent search of the motor vehicle was conducted and an excess of 2,000 bags of heroin were seized."

Ibin Aabid has been charged with first-degree manufacturing, distributing, or dispensing; second-degree possession with intent to distribute in a public park/housing; and third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

He is currently being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
