Some great work from some Atlantic City Police Officers may have saved a life Monday evening.

At about 7pm, police were called out to Ocean Body Oil in the 1400 block of Atlantic Avenue for the report of a woman with a knife. Officers Valmir Loga and Christopher Dodson arrived and found the woman, Octavia Watson, holding a knife, refusing to leave the store.

According to police, "The officers gave numerous commands to Watson to drop the knife who continually refused. Watson yelled at the officers that she was going to kill the store clerk. The officers engaged Watson in dialogue for several minutes pleading with her to drop the knife. Watson complied and was taken into custody without incident."

Officers say they discovered that Watson had entered the store with the knife, demanding money. The clerk refused,

The 28-year-old Watson, from Atlantic City, was taken to the Atlantic County Jail. She faces charges that include robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

The incident remains under investigation.

Congratulations to Officers Loga and Dodson on a job well done!
