Alleged Drunk Driver Strikes Longport Patrol Car, Officer Injured

A Longport Police Officer was treated at the hospital for minor injuries after her patrol car was struck by a hit and run driver on Longport Boulevard.

On International Women's Day, no less.

Longport Police say officer Shaune Slattery had just gotten into her car after a traffic stop Friday evening, when her vehicle was sideswiped by a pickup truck, allegedly driven by Michael K. Muller, 28, of Somers Point.

According to police, "Muller left the scene of the crash. Sgt. Jamie Silva witnessed the crash and was able to locate Muller a short time later. Muller was arrested by members of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department for Driving While Intoxicated."

Slattery was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and released.
