An Atlantic City man learned pretty quickly that you can't run from the law.

Atlantic City Police say a traffic stop was made just after 11am Friday at Georgia and Pacific Avenue. The driver of the car, while being questioned by police tried to make a run for it, but didn't get very far:

Officer Arra was speaking with the driver, Alexander Botchway, outside of the vehicle when Botchway tried to run away. Officer Arra grabbed Botchway who pushed Arra. Officer Arra held on to Botchway as the two fell to the ground where he continued to resist arrest by not allowing Officer Arra to handcuff him. With the assistance of other officers, Botchway was placed in custody. He was found in possession of 150 bags of heroin, 11.5 grams of unpackaged heroin, and two grams of MDMA.

Botchway was taken to the Atlantic County Jail.

According to police, he faces the following charges: "Two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone, failure to turn over CDS, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, and traffic summons."
