A suspected armed robber chased by police, dropped his gun as he climbed a fence, and was ultimately caught.

Atlantic City Police say it all happened Friday morning. Just after 7am, Officer Janicquea Harold was flagged down by a 33-year old armed robbery suspect at the corner of Indiana and Atlantic Avenues. The officer obtained a description of the suspects, and two lookouts.

According to police, here's what happened next:

While searching the area, Officer Harold located Yakeem Green at South Carolina and Atlantic Avenues. Green matched the description of the suspect. Green fled as Officer Harold exited her patrol car. As Green went to jump a fence, a loaded handgun fell from his clothing. Officer Harold stopped to recover the weapon and provided a direction of travel for Green to responding officers. Officers Bria Hill, Michael Kragh, and Zayon Pitts located Green a block away. He was taken into custody without incident.

Green is being held in the Atlantic County Jail, charged with Robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and conspiracy.
