Atlantic City Woman Arrested for Aggravated Assault, Child Endangerment
An Atlantic City woman has been arrested in connection to an incident this past July that involved a 7-month-old child overdosing on narcotics.
Hamilton Township Police responded to Oakmont Drive on the night of July 8th for the report of an unresponsive child. Authorities say the infant was treated by EMT crews and taken to ARMC-City and then later to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for further treatment.
After an investigation by police and the Atlantic County Prosecutors Office, it was determined the infant suffered from an overdose of narcotics. On December 21st the infant’s mother, 37-year-old Shannon Devine of Atlantic City, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Devine was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a court appearance.
Cops say the infant has fully recovered and is no longer residing with the mother.
