The highly-anticipated Target store in Somers Point is now officially open.

Congratulations, fans of the "bullseye." Shoppers can now get their Target run on at Somers Point Plaza off New Road.

Target took over what used to be Kmart. It's reportedly 100,000 square feet of shopping space just in time for the holiday season. The store also employs more than 300 people, according to msn.com, and houses a CVS Pharmacy.

It's much closer for our Cape May County friends who can now probably cut about 15 minutes drive time since the nearest Target up till now was Mays Landing.

An official grand opening will take place this Sunday, October 24th. Store hours are Monday through Saturday 8a to 10p and Sunday 8a to 9p.
