Cops say a Mays Landing man, who was riding a bike, was seriously injured Sunday morning when he was hit by a car in Mullica Township.

The Mullica Township Police Department says their officers were called to the intersection of Weekstown Road and Indian Cabin Road just before 10:00 Sunday morning for the report of a bicycle-car crash.

According to authorities, "A sedan, driven by a 35 [year old] female from Egg Harbor Twp, was traveling north bound on Weekstown Road approaching the transfer station when it struck a male, 31 [years old] from Mays Landing, who was also traveling north on Weekstown Road."

The driver of the car remained at the scene and called police.

Cops say the unidentified man was thrown from his bike and seriously injured. He was flown to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
