Cumberland County Couple Killed in Car Motorcycle Crash
A Port Norris husband and wife were killed when their motorcycle was struck by an SUV late Sunday afternoon.
According to Lower Township Police, Dominick Cione, 54, was operating his motorcycle with his wife, Carol Cione, 50, a passenger on Seashore Road in Lower Township. Their bike was stuck by a vehicle driven by Daniel W. Cluff, 76, of Cold Spring. Police say their investigation indicates Cluff's vehicle crossed the center line and collided with the motorcycle.
Both Dominick and Carol Cione were thrown from the vehicle on impact. Both were transported to the hospital and pronounced dead.
A second motorcycle, which had been next to the Cione bike was not hit. Thomas Kendorski, 46, was able to avoid a collision - he sustained minor injuries. Cluff was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
