Dennisville NJ Fire Company Fights Two Fires at Same Time Tuesday
A couple fires kept firefighters busy in the Dennisville and Woodbine areas of Cape May County Tuesday.
The Dennis Volunteer Fire Company says that about 1:15pm, the fire company responded to a fire shed fire on Tyler Road. The fire also spread to nearby brush. Fire crews also responded from Bellplain, Ocean View, and Woodbine. Ultimately, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service also responded, with a Forest Fire plane, dropping water from above.
Within 20 minutes of responding to the first fire, crews were also called out to a house fire in the 700 block of Phillip Desantis Drive in Woodbine. When crews arrived they found fire and heavy smoke coming from the home.
According to the Dennis Fire Company, "This incident was eventually upgraded to a 3rd alarm, bringing in units from Woodbine, Dennis, Ocean View, Goshen, and Stone Harbor to the scene, as well as numerous area departments on cover assignments and units that were responded but cancelled once the situation was placed under control."
It does not appear that there were any injures. Both fires are being investigated by the Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office.
