Egg Harbor Twp., NJ, Cops: Man Killed Crossing the Black Horse Pike
Cops in Egg Harbor Township say a man was killed when he attempted to cross the Black Horse Pike early Sunday morning.
The accident happened just before 2:30 AM in front of the Holiday Inn Express in West Atlantic City, according to a press release from the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.
There, an investigation revealed,
A 2017 Nissan Sentra, operated by John DiPasquale, 29 years of age from Ventnor was traveling eastbound on the Black Horse Pike. A male subject, identified as Norberto Hernandez, 32 years of age, was walking across the Black Horse Pike from the south side of the road to the north side. While crossing the Black Horse Pike, Mr. Hernandez walked directly into the lane of travel and was struck by the vehicle operated by Mr. DiPasquale in the inside lane of travel.
Hernandez sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Eastbound traffic on the Black Horse Pike was detoured for nearly four hours while the scene was cleared.
