A 25-year-old Egg Harbor Township man faces attempted murder charges after allegedly setting fire to a home in Lakewood two weeks ago.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer says Jamal Preston has been charged with attempted murder and four counts of aggravated arson.

BIllheimer says that on August 22nd, Lakewood Police were called out to a house fire. An investigation found that the fire was intentionally set "utilizing an ignitable liquid and an open flame." Three people were in the home at the time.

The investigation led authorities to Preston and he was arrested Monday by the United States Marshals Service. He's being held in the Ocean County Jail.

The incident remains under investigation.
