July 4th started with a fire that destroyed a popular Pleasantville restaurant along with two other businesses on Main Street.

Kelsey and Kim's Soul Food restaurant always pops up on "best of" lists in and around Atlantic City.  They've even been featured on 'Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.'

According to Shore News Today,

The Pleasantville Fire Department responded at 10:09 a.m. to a report of a structure fire at the restaurant located at 52 N. Main St., Acting Battalion Chief Gene Wellington said in a news release.

Firefighters battled the blaze, but a large section of the roof collapsed forcing firefighters out of the building, where the firefighting effort continued.

The fire was extinguished by approximately 11:15 a.m. The last units cleared the scene at 1:20 p.m., Wellington said.

Two other businesses were also affected by the fire.  It's currently under investigation to find the cause of the blaze.
