Detectives with the Atlantic City Police Department’s Special Investigations Section say they arrested four people and seized guns, drugs, and nearly $10,000 in cash over a two-day period.

According to police, on January 12th, ACPD detectives were conducting surveillance in the 1000 block of Brigantine Boulevard in reference to complaints from area residents regarding the possession and distribution of drugs. While they were out, they stopped a vehicle which led to 19-year-old Naheem Prater of Atlantic City and 21-year-old Hameed Owens of Mays Landing being arrested. Police say Prater was found to be in possession of more than 11 grams of heroin and a loaded gun was found where he was sitting. Owens was found in possession of more than 8 grams of heroin and more than 7 grams of cocaine.

The next day, a search warrant was executed in the 1500 block of Caspian Place resulting in the arrest of 37-year-old Robert Taylor and 35-year-old Tyhesha Wilson, both of Atlantic City. According to police, inside the home, detectives located 2,100 bags of heroin, 15 grams of cocaine, 54 grams of marijuana, items used for the packaging and distribution of narcotics, and nearly $10,000 in cash.

Prater was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of CDS, and possession with intent to distribute CDS. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

Owens was charged with possession of CDS (two counts) and possession with intent to distribute CDS. He was released on a summons with a future court date.

Both Taylor and Wilson were charged with possession of CDS (three counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS (two counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone (two counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone (two counts), possession of narcotic paraphernalia, and money laundering. They were both remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
