Officials say a man from Galloway, who was driving a motorcycle, was killed in a crash with a truck from the U.S. Postal Service on the White Horse Pike Saturday afternoon.

The Galloway Township Police Department says their officers responded to a crash in the area of W. White Horse Pike and Upas Ave. at around 2:50 PM Saturday for a report of an accident involving a motorcycle.

Their investigation revealed,

...that a 2019 Suzuki GSX, being operated by [34-year-old] Michael P. Giannetta Jr of Galloway, was traveling westbound on W. White Horse Pike, approaching the intersection with Upas Ave. A 2000 USPS mail truck, being operated by [49-year-old] Jocelyn L. Moore of Egg Harbor Township, was stopped at the stop sign on Upas Ave southbound, at the intersection with W. White Horse Pike. Moore entered into the intersection and attempted to turn left onto W. White Horse Pike.

Giannetta’s motorcycle struck the front driver side of the mail truck and he was ejected from the motorcycle, according to police. Giannetta was transported to ARMC-City Division where he died from his injuries. Moore was transported to ARMC-Mainland for non-life threatening injuries.

This accident is being investigated by Ofc. Ron Gorneau of the Galloway Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call (609) 652-3705 x5095.
