Happy 100th birthday to one of the greatest cookies of all time!  The Oreo cookie was first sold to a grocer named S.C. Thuesen on March 6, 1912, where it was first called the "Oreo Biscuit."  Read on for more worthless Oreo facts!  In 1921, National Biscuit Company, later to be named Nabisco, changed the name to "Oreo Sandwich" and finally in 1937 it was named "Oreo Creme Sandwich," though most people just call it an Oreo.

Oreos are sold in more than 100 countries and is the top selling cookie in the world.  After the U.S., the most Oreos are sold in China, Venezuela, Canada and Mexico.  In China, there are many variations like a green tea ice cream flavor, a raspberry-blueberry flavor and an orange-mango kind.

Oreo has unveiled a limited-edition Birthday Cake Oreo featuring colored sprinkles in a vanilla cake flavored creme that will be in stores through April.
