It was an ugly weather day in South Jersey, especially in parts of Ocean County.

Heavy thunderstorms quickly developed over southern Ocean County around lunchtime Friday with hail and flooding downpours. 1.75" hail was reported in Manahawkin just before 1:00, a 76 MPH wind gust was recorded near Barnegat Light, and flash flooding was reported in and around Stafford Township, resulting in some water rescues.

Thunderstorms will wind-down tonight and a nice weekend is in the forecast. Meteorologist Alan Kasper says we'll see a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the 80s for Saturday and Sunday.
