Tonight has been designated "National Night Out" across the country - with community based events happening in cities and towns all across the country.

According to the National Night Out website, the event "promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live."

Now in it's 36th year, National Night Out will be celebrated in 16,000 communities across the country, include 250 in New Jersey.

Our Cat Country Fun and Games Crew will be at Hamilton Mall this evening, starting at 6. The event, sponsored by the mall and the Township of Hamilton Police Department will feature food trucks, music, face painting, Police K-9 demonstrations, and more.

There's also something called shark riding - we're still trying to figure that one out!

The event is free and open to all!
