Local Man Arrested for Robbing Egg Harbor City Wawa

Within minutes of allegedly robbing the Wawa on the White Horse Pike in Egg Harbor City, a local man was arrested and charged with the crime.

Egg Harbor City Police say officers were dispatched to the store Monday for robbery in progress.

Police say a note was passed to the cashier by a man, who was demanding money. The note said that he had a gun.

Police say once on the scene, officers quickly arrested John J. Meadows 3rd, 54, of Egg Harbor City. He was charged with first degree armed robbery.

Police say Meadows is being held in the Atlantic County Jail, pending a court appearance.
