Man Breaks Into Middle Twp Home and Showers But No Clean Getaway
A 27-year-old man broke into a Middle Township home, took a shower, but failed in his attempt to make a clean getaway.
Middle Township Police say Lorenzo Mignano was arrested after the incident Thursday night and Friday morning.
Police released these details about the incident:
On April 27, 2017 at approximately 11am, the Middle Township Police Department received a 911 call from a resident in the 500 block of Shunpike Road in the Mayville section of the township. The caller reported walking into her residence and finding an unknown man running away, possibly armed with a knife. The 27 year old man, identified as Lorenzo Mignano, had recently come to visit relatives also within the 500 block of Shunpike Road last evening. The relatives told Mignano he was not welcome at their home and to leave, which he did. It was learned through the investigation that Mignano went across the street to the victim’s residence where he entered and remained, rummaging through the residence, showering and damaging the property. Within minutes, patrol officers, members of the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department and plain clothes detectives from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office arrived on scene and a perimeter was secured. Mignano was located hiding in a shed on an adjacent property, unarmed. Mignano was arrested and charged with burglary and criminal mischief and is incarcerated pending a bail hearing.
