There are so many benefits of having a dog park close by. Our furry friends get to exercise, roam around freely and socialize with other four-legged friends. Plus, the added benefit of being close to home. So, could there be a new dog park in Northfield's future?

According to a report from The Press of Atlantic City, a city councilwoman would like to propose a dog park in Northfield, with one possible location being Birch Grove Park.

The report states that the proposed park would follow the similar guidelines of Egg Harbor Township's non-profit dog park on Swift Drive, which requires a $40 membership fee from residents in order to have access.

No plans or location for the new dog park in Northfield have been confirmed or finalized. Check back for more updates.
