Fancy New “World Class” ShopRite To Open In Manahawkin, NJ
"Out with the old, in with the new." That's the popular saying, isn't it? It might be one of the most cliché sayings in the world, but it has certainly stood the test of time. Time keeps moving. Things keep evolving. That's certainly the case with the shopping experience here in New Jersey.
Remember when malls were the place to be on the weekends? Now, so many of them here in the Garden State are desolate wastelands where once great shopping meccas stood. It's quite sad, to be honest.

That's why it's always so exciting to hear about a store opening where another once-beloved shopping hub once stood. You may or may not have heard the news that KMart will officially be a thing of the past once October 2024 wraps.
The KMart on Route 72 in Stafford Township, Ocean County, has been boarded up for a while now. To be brutally honest, it's an eyesore within the community. Luckily, reports confirm that the entire building AND part of the shopping plaza next to it will be converted into a ShopRite.
If you're asking yourself "why" since there's already a ShopRite up the road, they're moving that one.
New Jersey To Get A "World Class" ShopRite In Manahawkin
Sources from the SandPaper say that this new ShopRite will be a whole different consumer experience. The folks in charge of the plan are reportedly referring to this new ShopRite as "world class." That's a pretty big phrase to throw out to the public if there's no way to follow through.
Following through they are, as a matter of fact. Plans are moving forward to renovate the old KMart building and some of the adjacent shopping center, as well as make some small changes to the parking lot.
If you're still hazy about the new location, it's right near the McDonald's, and close to TJ Maxx and Michael's.
People have been flooding social media wondering what will now take the place of the building ShopRite will be vacating. Some have suggested a Sprouts or Trader Joe's. Others have said they'd like to see Wegman's take up the vacant building. Most Manahawkin residents agree that they hope it doesn't stay empty for too long.
