A North Wildwood bar owner has been charged for violating Gov. Murphy's executive order on social distancing.

According to authorities, North Wildwood Police investigated Flip Flopz bar on West Spruce Avenue early Sunday morning for being in violation of Murphy's executive order that relates to social distancing regulations.

Police say they, "...witnessed large amounts of patrons crowded around the upstairs, outside patio bar at Flip Flopz known as “Tiki Topz” with social distancing regulations not being enforced by staff at that location."

Officials say they received complaints for repeated violations and had warned Flip Flopz management.

The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office charged the bar's owner, 34-year-old Joseph Mahoney, Jr., of Mt. Laurel with a disorderly persons offense; he was served with a summons.
