One person is dead and three others, including a 2-year-old child, were injured in a head-on crash on Route 9 in Galloway Thursday.

Galloway Township Police say a Ford Expedition being driven by 33-year-old Steven Sotelo of Egg Harbor City was traveling northbound on Route 9 just north of Leeds Point Road. A Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by 56-year-old Laila Marak of Galloway, was stopped southbound on Route 9 waiting to turn left into the Leeds Point Shoppes. Cops say Marak turned into the path of Sotelo’s vehicle causing a head-on collision.

Marak was transported to ARMC-City with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead. Sotelo and his two passengers, 29-year-old Adrianna Tinsley-Ferrer of Galloway and a 2-year-old child, were transported to ARMC-Mainland for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Galloway Township Police at (609) 652-3705.
