The investigation into the discovery of human remains behind an Egg Harbor Township mall continues.

The remains were reportedly found in a suitcase in a wooded area behind Shore Mall. A hunter - reportedly an off-duty police officer - made the discovery and contacted authorities.

According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office the body has been identified as that of a female. The age and race have yet to be determined, as the autopsy is ongoing.

Authorities have released photos of the tattoos on the victim. They are asking anyone who may be able to help in the identification process to call the Major Crimes Unit at 609-909-7666. Calls can also be made anonymously to the Atlantic County Crimestoppers Program at 1-800-658-8477.
