Police in Atlantic City had a suspect that just wouldn't surrender.

Police say Benny Ward, 31, of Pleasantville tried to steal a cash register Sunday afternoon from a convenience store on Atlantic Avenue. When the clerk tried to stop Ward, Ward punched the man, and threatened to kill him.

When police located Ward at a nearby fast food restaurant, they attempted to arrest Ward, but he resisted, attacking the arrested officer, and later fighting with three other officers who attempted to help.

It wasn't until police brought in a K-9, Chase, that Ward finally surrendered.

Ward is now in the Atlantic County jail, facing charges which include Robbery, theft, terroristic threats, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, obstruction of justice, and resisting arrest.
