A portion of Route 47 in Cape May County will be closed for the next six months starting Monday.

The NJDOT says Route 47 will close at 7:00 Monday morning in both directions between Indian Trail Road and Springers Mill Road in Middle Township. This portion of roadway is expected to remain closed until sometime in June of this year.

Authorities say the closure is necessary to repair a culvert over Dias Creek which resulted in sinkholes that are compromising the roadway.
