Authorities say a man who was wanted for allegedly shooting two people, one fatally, in Bridgeton earlier this month is now in custody.

Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae says 19-year-old Derrell Martin of Bridgeton was arrested on Friday. He was charged on October 14th with murder, two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and weapon-related charges.

Cops say on Friday night, October 8th, Bridgeton police officers were dispatched to 138 Vine Street in reference to shots fired. Officers at the scene found 21-year-old Tyrese J. McNair of Bridgeton who had been shot multiple times in the chest; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Cops also found another victim, a 21-year-old man, at Hampton and Giles Streets with gunshot wounds to the abdomen and arm; he was taken to Cooper Hospital in Camden and listed in critical condition.

With Martin now in custody, Webb-McRae's office says the state will move for detention.
