Retired Police Officer Killed in Tuckerton Apartment Fire

A retired police officer died as the result of an apartment fire in Tuckerton yesterday.

Former Jersey City police officer Andrew Koralja, 73, was pulled from  in his apartment by firefighters at the Village on the Green complex on Main Street.

According to NJ.com, Koralja was one of three triplets who had worked for the Jersey City Police Department. They were featured in ad for Seagram's V.O. Whiskey back in 1985.

Investigators say the fire was accidental, caused by a discarded cigarette.
