Cops say an 18-year-old man who had an outstanding warrant for an attempted murder charge was arrested Friday after he initially fled from police.

Winslow Township cops say they responded to a report of a suspicious person on Williamstown Road around 1:00 Friday morning, according to The Courier-Post.

A man, who initially gave a false name but was later identified as 18-year-old Stephen T. Young of Sicklerville, fled from officers when cops determined who he really was. That's also when they found he an an outstanding warrant on an attempted murder charge.

According to the report, Young was seen hiding behind cars on Heywood Lane but fled again. Eventually Young surrendered when a police dog was able to track him down.

Cops say a gun and a cellphone were found at that scene.

Young was processed on the attempted homicide warrant and additionally charged with possession of a defaced handgun, unlawful possession of a handgun, resisting arrest, and false information to police. Young was sent to the Camden County Correctional Facility, according to the Winslow Township Police Department.
