Wednesday morning two people were rescued off the coast of Cape May.

Around 10AM calls were received by the Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay of a sinking boat. The calls described the 52-foot boat and explained that there were 2 passengers on board. The boat was approximately 6 miles off the coast.

According to Petty Officer Second Tyler Fontaine, the passengers aboard the sinking boat immediately contacted the Coast Guard via radio when they noticed something was amiss.

A response boat was launched from Cape May.

The response boat used a pump to dewater the boat as the passengers were ushered off.

Luckily, no injuries have been reported.
