Hammonton Police are searching for the person who stole the tip jar from the counter of a local business - and they have a warning for that person.

Police say someone stole the top jar from Marcello’s restaurant, on Bellevue Avenue. They say the thief was wearing a ski mask when he stole the tip jar from the counter at about 3:30 Sunday afternoon.

Police issued two warnings on Facebook. The first to other Hammonton business employees: "Know someone is out there attempting to take your hard earned money. Please, keep your eyes and ears open, and secure those jars to the counter so they can’t be easily removed."

The second warning, reminiscent of the movie Taken:

"We don't know who you are. If you are looking for more tip jars we can tell you we don't have any at the police station, but what we do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills we have acquired over very long careers. Skills that make us nightmare for people like you. If you return the tip jar and money that was inside of it to the police station that'll be the end of it. We will not look for you, we will not pursue you, but if you don't, we will look for you, we will find you and we will arrest you..."
