What Does 5-1-5-0 Mean?
Dierks Bentley has had huge success with the song '5-1-5-0.' But what does it really mean? Bentley sat down with Taste of Country to explain it all,
“I had written this song on the beach one day and I said, ‘Let’s get 5150,’ and he was asking me what ’5150′ meant,” Bentley says in the clip. Rock fans know it as a Van Halen album and song from 1986, but the Arizona born singer explains that it’s also the police code for a criminally insane person.
“5-1-5-0, somebody call the po-po / I’m going crazy / Thinkin’ about you baby,” Bentley can be heard singing in the video.
“We were laughing about it for a while, and one day we sat down and were like, ‘All right, let’s try to write it,’” he explains."
Who knew? I love learning how artists come up with songs and ideas!
The song is featured on Dierks Bentley’s album ‘Home.’
