Driving through the South, feeling those morning hunger pains, I stop off at a Waffle House restaurant.

Within a half hour, my tummy is full - and, so is my soul.

If you've never been to a Waffle House, you're definitely missing out.

A Waffle House would really fit in New Jersey because it is a small, quick version of a diner.

You sit at a very simple table or at the counter, place your order, and a few feet away, someone slaps your order on the grill.

Ta-da! A few minutes later, breakfast is served.

Waffle House foo is neither fancy nor expensive - it's just good comfort food, served fast.

Waffle House in New Jersey?

There are over 2,000 Waffle Houses in the USA. Those restaurants are located in 25 states, but not one location is in New Jersey.

Why not?

If you want a Waffle House fix, you're closest location from Atlantic City is probably Dover, Delaware, about two hours away.

So, will Waffle House be coming to New Jersey? Here's what they say on their website:

"Currently we have restaurants in 25 states.  While we don’t disclose our growth plans, we are always opening new restaurants.  If we haven’t gotten to you yet, just wait.  Hopefully, we will be in your market one day soon."

That doesn't sound very promising, does it?
