A Kenny Chesney Return to the Beach?

Could 2015 be the year that Kenny Chesney returns to the beach in South Jersey?

Chesney did a show on the beach in Wildwood in 2012. Might he be returning to the same beach - or to the Atlantic City Beach this summer?

*This is the part of this article where I point out that I have no real inside information here. This is purely speculation.

If you check out the newly released Kenny Chesney tour schedule, you'll see dates for Philly and for East Rutherford - plus a TBA (to be announced) date for August 20th. Could this possibly a beach date in South Jersey for Kenny?

I know personally that Kenny LOVED his show on the Wildwood Beach a few years ago - he told me so. He also made that point in an interview last year. The folks in Wildwood would love to have him back.

Atlantic City officials would also love to have Chesney on the AC Beach! In talking with officials leading up to last summer's shows, they stressed that the Chesney-Wildwood show was "their model" for the Atlantic City beach concerts.

The fact that the TBA date of August 20th is a Thursday, lends credence (at least in my mind) to the possibility of an Atlantic City show. Last year, for the 2 summer beach concerts, officials planned them on a Thursday (Blake Shelton) and a Sunday (Lady Antebellum) to build a big weekend for the resort. Chesney on a Thursday would be a great lead in to the weekend!

So, why isn't Chesney announcing where the August 20th date is yet? Could be a few reasons. There are still tickets available for his Philadelphia show. Often there is language in concert contracts whereas one show can't be announced when a show by the same artist is still "in play." It could simply be that the organizers of the concert aren't ready to make an official announcement yet - and are probably pissed off at me right about now.....

So, circle August 20th on your calendar, and keep your fingers crossed!
